Thank you for your interest in the communities of Living Branches. In the many years I’ve worked for Living Branches, I’ve grown in my appreciation for the residents and team members who make up this community more each year. It would be a pleasure to welcome you to one of our campuses.
Prospective residents often have questions about how we evaluate financial applications for admission. Because we evaluate each application individually, it can be difficult to provide a simple answer to that question. So instead of a simple answer, let me provide a more detailed explanation of our financial evaluation process.
The Evaluation Process
When we evaluate prospective residents for admission to Living Branches, we calculate their ability to pay privately for services throughout our continuum of care. This means we are looking for financial resources to cover not only the entrance and monthly fees in Residential Living, but also in Personal Care and Health Care/skilled nursing.
Because more services are provided in Personal Care and Health Care than in Residential Living, rates for those areas are higher than Residential Living. Personal Care and Health Care provide round-the-clock staffing, all meals and snacks, housekeeping and laundry services, etc.
When determining eligibility for residency in a Living Branches community, our admission committee considers the assets, income, and long-term care insurance applicants may have. We also include permanent expenses such as costs for insurance and prescriptions in the calculations. Demographic information also impacts eligibility; a couple will need more available resources than a single person, for example.
Living Branches is committed to offering residency opportunities to a wide range of applicants. We believe that a diversity of residents leads to more vibrant campus life. This is part of the reason we have a wide variety of housing options on our campuses. We have everything from studio apartments to three bedroom villas with finished basements. As you would expect, the financial resources needed to support a couple in a three bedroom villa are quite different than those needed by a single person in a studio apartment.
If you have questions about your financial eligibility, please don’t hesitate to talk with your sales counselor. Nicole, Jana, and Crystal are here to help. You can contact them here.
