We’re looking for an Executive Chef to lead our culinary team at Souderton Mennonite Homes!
Our Executive Chef manages food service production for residents, guests and special event catering. Main responsibilities include managing food cost; planning menus, ensuring that safety and sanitation requirements are met; and promoting high quality and customer satisfaction. Responsible for maintaining food production, inventory program, purchasing, receiving, and staff development.

Executive Chef Overview:
- Collaborates with Nutrition Care Manager, Dietitian and other staff to plan and develop recipes and menus
- Creates sanitation programs/schedules including daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules and sanitation inspections
- Supervises and coordinates activities of Sous chef, cooks and other workers engaged in food preparation
- Educates and teaches employees on relevant safety and sanitation issues
- Oversees the purchasing, receiving and storage of food and dietary supplies. Checks the quantity and quality of received products such as raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
- Maintains food production records including standardized recipes, menus served, number of meals served, post-production documentation plus other appropriate reports, schedules, studies, et
- Ensures that food is prepared, tasted and served at proper temperatures according to the preferences of residents and to the highest quality standards
- Follows and meets the HACCP principals and state and local guidelines of food safety & sanitation.
- Degree in Culinary Arts (preferred)
- Food Safety Certification required
- 2+ years’ experience as a sous chef or executive chef; experience in a healthcare/hospitality environment preferred
- Experience providing quality customer services including needs assessment, meeting quality standards, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards, fire and safety procedures, HACCP regulations, as well as knowledge of state food-handling and kitchen regulation
