About Our Financial Evaluation Process
When we evaluate prospective residents for admission to Living Branches, we calculate their ability to pay privately for services throughout our continuum of care. This means we are looking for financial resources to cover not only the entrance and monthly fees in Residential Living, but also in Personal Care and Health Care/skilled nursing.
Because more services are provided in Personal Care and Health Care than in Residential Living, rates for those areas are higher. Personal Care and Health Care provide round-the-clock staffing, all meals and snacks, housekeeping and laundry services, specialized programming, and more.
When determining whether an applicant is eligible for residency at Living Branches, our admission committee considers a range of factors, including:
- Assets and income
- Long-term care insurance
- Permanent expenses, such as insurance and prescriptions
- Demographic information
- Number of applicants
Another major consideration is the residence type an applicant desires. To accommodate a range of needs, Souderton Mennonite Homes offers everything from studio apartments to two-bedroom villas. As you would expect, the financial resources needed to support a couple in a villa are quite different than those needed by a single person in an apartment.
When you attend a Discovery Tour, you’ll receive more detailed information about the financial application process. Your sales counselor can also provide you with more details about financial eligibility and how the application process works.

We’ve jumped into all kinds of activities: water volleyball, cornhole, shuffleboard, concerts, crochet, and walks on the trails. There’s always something to do, and someone happy to be with you.
Downsizing can feel like a big step, but it’s been so freeing. We’ve kept the life we love, made wonderful friends, and become part of a community that really feels like home.

Life here has an easy rhythm that keeps you active and feeling at home. I play pool a few times a week, bowl with the Wii bowling group, and jump in for cornhole, shuffleboard, and bocce ball. Every other week I meet up with a group of friends for a men’s breakfast in the cafe. It’s a simple tradition but one we look forward to each week.

I worked construction most of my life so I never needed a gym, but once that chapter ended I wanted to stay strong and keep moving. Most mornings around 7:00 a.m., four or five of us are in here together. We work out, catch up, and encourage each other. It’s become a routine that I really look forward to.

Cost varies based on the residence style, location, and campus you choose. Pricing for Souderton Mennonite Homes includes two primary costs:
- Entrance Fee: A one-time fee paid when you move in. A portion is refundable when you leave Residential Living.

Living Branches communities use a fee-for-service contract model, also known as Type C. That means residents pay only for the services they currently use.
If additional health services are needed in the future, costs increase based on the level of care received. Because of this structure, Residential Living entrance fees and monthly fees are lower than communities that offer Life Care contracts, also known as Type A.
