Class Summary

This multimedia presentation will explore the various types of dance music written by classical composers. Session one will focus on music composed by Brahms, Dvořák, and Greig that was inspired by folk dances. Session two will start with a silly little waltz by Stravinsky and a famous waltz by Strauss. Then we will spotlight music composed for ballets by Delibes, Tchaikovsky, Falla, Gliere, and Copland, and two dances from an opera by Smetana.
