Description

Class Summary

Join us for a walking tour of historic Laurel Hill East Cemetery in East Falls. Opened in 1836, this Victorian-era cemetery is on the national register of historic places. Walk the grounds with an experienced guide, learn more about its history and symbolism, and meet some of the interesting residents!

The walking tour will be on both paved surfaces and grass, with some uneven ground and stairs to climb and walk down. Sensible shoes are a must. Please bring along a packed lunch and drink. Following the tour, we will eat our lunches in the medallion garden or a conference room, depending on the weather.

About the Instructor

Our guide for this walking tour is Sarah Hamill, who is in her 10th year of leading tours in the sister cemeteries, Laurel Hill East and Laurel Hill West. She plans cemetery visits on every trip she and her husband take both here and abroad.
