“Ever since we moved here, I’ve contributed to the Sharing Fund because I really believe my contributions help people.”

Benevolent Care is a ministry which provides grants to residents who, through no fault of their own, can no longer cover the full cost of their care. Although every person is unique, their individual stories share common themes. They have worked hard, raised children, given back to their communities, and saved for their retirement. But now, unanticipated challenges have placed them in a position of financial need
In fiscal year 2020, 128 residents received aid through the benevolent care program. The total annual cost of benevolent and unreimbursed care amounts to more than $3,800,000 and the Foundation provides more than $1,240,000 to offset those costs.

“We knew [my mom] had somewhat limited savings and monthly income. When they talked to us about the benevolent care program and how that could help if her funds ran out, it was a big comfort to her and the family – to know she would be taken care of.”

“My mom lived here for seven years. She loved her room and her friends. Souderton Mennonite Homes was wonderful to my mother, and so I make a contribution every year to show my appreciation.”
