COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Living Branches promotes community involvement and the meaningful cultivation of relationships between staff, residents, families, and neighbors. Many residents find volunteering, both on campus and in the community, enhances their quality of life.
At Living Branches, we continue a strong tradition of volunteerism. Some of the ways our staff and residents support community include:
• Fundraising for and participation in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
• Volunteering at a number of local mission organizations, including the Mennonite Resource Center, and Care and Share Shoppes—both of which benefit Mennonite Central Committee.
• Serving on the boards of local non-profit organizations.
• Tutoring students from Dock Village, the Living Branches family subsidized housing community.
Living Branches sponsors several events that have become local favorites. These popular events include the Souderton Mennonite Homes Auxiliary Annual Chicken BBQ and Auction held in August, the Living Branches Golf Classic held each September, and Concert Sundaes in the Park held during the summer months at the Souderton Community Park.
The broader community is welcomed to the Dock Woods campus which serves as the district’s polling place each Election Day.
